Privacy Policy
for Bullet Nomad, developed by VortexVision Games, a brand of VORTEXVISION ADVERTISING PTE. LTD. ("we", "us", "our")
This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with the mobile game Bullet Nomad (the "Game") on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and its browser-playable version distributed on itch.io (the "Web Version"). We have built the Game to be privacy-respecting: we do not operate our own servers, we do not require you to create an account, and we do not run analytics of our own.
1. Summary
- We do not ask you to register, log in, or provide your name, email, or any account.
- Your game progress is saved locally on your device. We do not upload it to any server we control.
- On mobile, the Game shows advertising through Google AdMob: interstitial ads at natural breaks in play, and optional reward-based video ads that you choose to watch for an in-game bonus. Ad providers may collect device and advertising identifiers to deliver and measure ads.
- A one-time in-app purchase removes interstitial ads. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment details.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, we ask for your consent before showing personalized ads.
- The Web Version on itch.io does not show ads.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
None. The Game has no account system, no sign-in, and no in-game forms. If you contact us by email, we will receive your email address and whatever information you choose to include in your message.
2.2 Information stored on your device
The Game stores your progress, settings, inventory, currency counters, and purchase-unlock status locally on your device (a local save file). This data stays on your device, is not uploaded to any system we control, and is removed when you uninstall the Game. We do not have access to it.
2.3 Information collected automatically by third parties Mobile ads
When ads are served on mobile, our advertising partner (Google AdMob) and its ad technology providers may automatically collect and process:
- Advertising identifiers: Apple's IDFA (only with your permission under App Tracking Transparency) or Google's Advertising ID (GAID/AAID).
- Device and technical information: device model, operating system version, language, region/country, screen and network type, app version, and similar diagnostic data.
- IP address: used by the ad provider for coarse (country/region-level) location and fraud prevention. We never receive your IP address.
- Ad interaction data: which ads were requested, shown, viewed, or clicked, used for delivery, frequency capping and measurement.
- Android Privacy Sandbox signals: on Android 13 and later, the ad SDK may use the Topics API and Attribution Reporting as alternatives to the advertising identifier, subject to your device settings.
This information is collected by the ad provider under its own privacy policy. We receive only aggregated, non-identifying reporting, such as total ads watched and estimated revenue.
3. What we do not collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or postal address, unless you email us.
- We do not collect precise GPS location.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
- We do not use any analytics, crash-reporting, or attribution SDK of our own.
- We do not build advertising or marketing profiles ourselves, and we do not sell personal information.
- We do not knowingly collect any information directly from children. See Section 10.
4. Third-party services
The Game relies on the following third parties, each governed by its own privacy policy:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob Mobile | Interstitial and reward-based video advertising, ad measurement, and consent management through Google's User Messaging Platform | policies.google.com/privacy How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services AdMob ad technology providers |
| Apple App Store | App distribution and in-app purchase processing (iOS) | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| Google Play | App distribution and in-app purchase processing (Android) | policies.google.com/privacy |
| itch.io | Web Version hosting and third-party payment | itch.io/docs/legal/privacy-policy |
5. How information is used
Information collected through the Game is used only to:
- Deliver and display ads, measure their performance, limit how often you see the same ad, and detect fraud or invalid traffic;
- Remember your advertising consent choices;
- Process and validate in-app purchases through the relevant app store;
- Maintain your local game progress and settings;
- Understand aggregate, non-identifying performance of the Game, such as total ad views, to keep it running and improve it;
- Respond to you when you contact us.
6. Advertising and your choices Mobile
The Game shows two kinds of ads on mobile:
- Interstitial ads may appear at natural breaks in play, such as after a run ends. Purchasing the ad-removal pack (Section 7) stops interstitial ads permanently.
- Reward-based video ads only play when you choose to watch one, for example to revive after defeat, double your end-of-run coins, or eat a meal for free. You are never required to watch a rewarded ad, and skipping one never costs you progress. If you have purchased the ad-removal pack, you receive these bonuses without watching a video.
Your choices:
- iOS App Tracking Transparency (ATT): iOS will ask for your permission before any tracking across apps or websites. If you decline, you will see non-personalized ads.
- EEA, UK and Switzerland consent: before personalized ads are shown, we present a consent prompt through Google's User Messaging Platform, a Google-certified Consent Management Platform. You may choose non-personalized ads. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time from the Game's Settings menu under "Privacy options".
- United States: where a state privacy-choices prompt is presented, you can opt out of personalized advertising there. You can also opt out through your device settings, described below.
- Reset or limit your advertising ID: on iOS, turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking; on Android, delete or reset your Advertising ID and turn off ad personalization in Settings > Google > Ads.
Non-personalized ads still require limited data, such as coarse location and device type, to be served and to prevent fraud, but this data is not used to build a profile about you.
7. In-app purchases
The Game offers an optional one-time, non-consumable purchase that permanently removes interstitial ads. It does not unlock gameplay content or grant in-game currency. All purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google through their stores. Your payment method and billing details are processed by them and are never transmitted to or stored by us. We only receive confirmation that a purchase was completed so that the ad-removal status can be saved on your device. To restore a purchase on a new device, use the restore option in the Game while signed in to the same store account. To request a refund, contact the relevant app store.
8. Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK) GDPR
For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, our (and our partners') legal bases are:
- Consent: for personalized advertising and any access to information stored on your device that requires consent. You may withdraw consent at any time (Section 6).
- Legitimate interests: for serving non-personalized ads, measuring ad performance, securing the Game, and preventing fraud and abuse, balanced against your rights and interests.
- Performance of a contract: for processing in-app purchases you request and delivering the ad-removal status you paid for.
- Legal obligation: where we must keep records or respond to lawful requests.
9. Your privacy rights
9.1 EEA and UK (GDPR)
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
9.2 California and other US states
Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA) and of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and Oregon) have the right to know what personal information is collected, to access, correct or delete it, to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell your personal information and we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information. Serving personalized ads through AdMob may be considered "sharing" under California law; you can opt out using the controls in Section 6. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
9.3 Singapore (PDPA)
We are incorporated in Singapore and comply with the Personal Data Protection Act 2012. You may request access to or correction of personal data we hold about you, and withdraw any consent you have given, by contacting our Data Protection Officer (Section 16).
9.4 Other regions
If you live elsewhere, for example in Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Australia or Canada, you have similar rights under your local law and may exercise them in the same way.
9.5 How to exercise your rights
Because we do not maintain accounts or hold identifiable data on our own servers, most data is controlled directly by you through your device settings, the in-game Privacy options, or by uninstalling the Game. Data held by ad providers or app stores is controlled through their own tools and privacy policies. You may also contact us and we will assist or direct your request appropriately. We aim to respond within 30 days and may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Children's privacy COPPA
The Game is not directed to children under the age of 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, such as 16 in parts of the EEA. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. We configure our ad partner to serve ads appropriate for a general, non-child-directed audience. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
11. Data retention
- Local game data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the Game.
- We do not retain personal data on our own systems.
- If you email us, we keep the correspondence for up to 24 months after the matter is closed, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Data processed by ad providers and app stores is retained according to their respective policies.
12. International data transfers
Our third-party providers (Google, Apple, itch.io) may process data on servers located in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, these providers rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. We are located in Singapore; if you contact us by email, your message will be processed there.
13. Data security
We design the Game to minimize the data involved: no accounts, no proprietary servers, and local-only saves. Information transmitted to ad and payment providers is protected using the security measures described in their policies, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
14. Web (itch.io) version
The browser-playable Web Version on itch.io does not display advertisements and does not use an advertising SDK. Any optional purchase in the Web Version is handled by a third-party payment provider through itch.io. Your use of the itch.io website is also subject to itch.io's own privacy policy, including any cookies or analytics itch.io applies to its site.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the Game or on the store listing before the change takes effect. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
